Every year when it's time to start working on Women Rock, I think we won't be able to top the year previous..and every year I am surprised. Women Rock gets bigger and better – the vendors, the number of attendees and, of course, the most important, the donations and monies collected from Women Rock. I am looking forward to the surprises and changes to Women Rock VIII! So mark your calendar for this destination for Saturday, November 3rd. If you have attended in the past, be assured there will be the fun booths from the past as well as new booths. It's the first week of deer hunting and time to spend the day for yourself and other ladies in your family or group of friends.
This will be our 5th year partnering with St. Luke's and, as always, we are grateful for their involvement – making sure Women Rock comes back each year. Proceeds will benefit women with breast cancer via St. Luke's Foundation and St. Luke's Breast Center.
SPECIAL EVENTS, PAMPERING, ENTERTAINMENT, PRIZES, SILENT AUCTION AND JUST PLAIN FUN!!
Please join us by participating in all our events such as the hourly prize drawings by purchasing a $1.00 ticket, visiting the vendors that have all planned a special day for you, watching the Coldwater Creek Fashion Show, the entertainment, our silent auction with hundreds of items to bid on – including hotel stays, sailing, art, jewelry, Wine, products so generously donated from our vendors, rockers from Slumberland, electronics, etc. I know that many of us use this silent auction to start our Christmas shopping and getting a bargain! A huge thank you to our local and regional businesses that donate to this silent auction – without their help we could not have collected the monies we have throughout the last 7 years! Please remember them when you are out and about shopping and looking for services to patronize these businesses when you can. The silent auction every year helped tremendously to bring our total contribution in the last 7 years to $210,000.
 A huge thank you must also go to Como Oil and Propane for continuing to contribute one cent for every gallon of propane it delivers to households in our region to our Women Rock fundraising dollars. The total dollars they have contributed over the last 3 years has been enormous and definitely a win for those in our community. Also we don't want to forget to thank the Como customers who buy propane from the pink truck! Through the Pink Truck program, Como has been able to donate nearly $30,000!! We are elated to continue our relationship with Como Oil and Propane and Women Rock in 2012. When you see their Pink Truck around, think of their great gift to this community.
Some of the vendors that you visit will offer a pampering service, or sample in exchange for a suggested small donation while showing you their latest products. Other vendors have donated to the silent auction. So please stop by their booths and give them some of your time or shop at their booth. Don't forget the purpose of this event is for breast cancer fundraising (that all stays local) and at the same time having fun!!
$3.00 admission is all it is to get in the door (and last year we had a waiting line when the doors opened!). The lights, the pink lanterns, the pink balloons…. all there to enhance the already exciting atmosphere! If you haven't attended yet, don't miss this year – the water cooler talk about Women Rock VIII is just beginning. Saturday, November 3rd – be there!
